For 90 days get to know more about the international faces of the NBA. Day 77 bringsā€¦

Tiago Splitter (PF/C, San Antonio Spurs), Brazil
Height: 2.11m, 6-foot-11 | Weight: 111 kg, 245 pounds | Born: 1 January, 1985

Tiago Splitter's only worn silver and black his entire NBA career, but after the 2014 Finals, he has a gold accessory to go with it.

He started a mere eight games in his first two seasons with San Antonio. But his patience on a deep Spurs team paid off and in 2012-13 he started 58 out of 81 games, and 50 out of 59 games this past season.

The defending champs have plenty of players that can score - Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard, Boris Diaw to name a few. But Splitter's been the one who's been given some of the toughest defensive match-ups. In the first round of the 2014 playoffs he had the task of defending Dirk Nowitzki and in the next round went up against LaMarcus Aldridge.

The best team in 2013-14 has a handful of offensive threats, but they need defense too, and Splitter's there. His commitment to Popovich's system shone through last season, leading him to become the first Brazilian-born player to sport the golden Larry O'Brien Trophy.
