For 90 days get to know more about the international faces of the NBA. Day 78 brings…

Jeffrey Taylor (F, Charlotte Hornets) Sweden
Height: 2.01m, 6-foot-7| Weight: 102.1kg, 225 pounds | Born: 23 May, 1989

Like father like son. For Jeff Taylor, his career in basketball followed a familiar road, one paved by his father years before him.

Leaving Sweden for the US as a teen, Taylor played basketball at the same high school and college (Vanderbilt University) as his father and eventually made his way into the NBA -- where his father also had a career, though brief, playing for the Rockets and Pistons.

During the 2013-14 season, Taylor's sophomore year in the NBA, he found himself on an unfamiliar road – the road to recovery.

Taylor's season appeared promising at the start, with the swingman playing in 26 games (with eight starts) and averaging 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game. But on 20 December Taylor fell to a season-ending injury after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon.

He recently told the Charlotte Observer, "It's been a long road. With an Achilles injury you have to be really patient – slowly getting back all your strength, back to what you were."

But after nine months of rest, Taylor will return to Charlotte for the 2014-15 season, although likely will see his minutes diminish with the additions of Lance Stephenson and PJ Hairston.

Despite the roster changes, Taylor will rejoin the team feeling 100 percent, he said. When asked by the Charlotte Observer how he felt about his readiness to return to the court he responded, "It's not an injury anymore. It's healed. It's not weighing on my mind."
