When Roy Hibbert steps off the court, Ian Manhinmi becomes the Pacers' anchorman.
And that change brings renewed energy to the team.
Mahinmi's 2013-14 season got off to a slow start. But beginning in February, and through the end of the regular season, the big man showed a bump in productivity. On 9 February, he bolstered the Pacers' front line with seven points, nine rebounds, one assist and one block for a win against the Nuggets. In 13 April against the Thunder, his athleticism brought another highlight and another win for the East's top-seeded Pacers: 11 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block.
During the 2014 Playoffs, he played in all 19 games and showed his defensive prowess, averaging 2.4 rebounds per game in 12.7 minutes.
The Frenchman returns to Indiana this upcoming season, looking to provide quality bench scoring, strengthen his defensive efforts and continue being an all-around team player when he comes in to anchor.
