For 90 days get to know more about the international faces of the NBA. Day 33 brings…

Danilo Gallinari (SF, Denver Nuggets), Italy
Height: 2.08 m, 6-foot-10 | Weight: 102 kg, 225 pounds | Born: 8 August, 1998

Danilo Gallinari's 2013-14 season can't be tracked down in record books, because he couldn't play. An ACL injury has prevented him from stepping out on court since 4 April, 2013.

In 2012-13, the last season Gallinari played, he averaged more points per game (16.2) than any other Italian in the NBA, and ranked as the second-highest scorer on the Nuggets. When he played at home the Nuggets had a 33-3 record, compared to last season's 22-19 record.

He comes from an Italian basketball family. His parents played basketball in Italy, and his younger brother also has hopes of playing in the NBA. Gallinari's served as an ambassador for the game around the world, using his time away from the court to participate in the 2014 Basketball Without Borders program.

Gallinari's road to recovery has been long, and Denver along with Italy have missed his sharpshooting and agile moves in the lane. But he's been cleared to return to the court and expects to be ready for pre-season in October. This announcement gives reason for celebration, and he's hoping to come back stronger than ever.
